Why safety is our first feature
At Troobondr, safety isn't a checkbox — it is the foundation of every profile, every conversation and every match. We built the product around the gaps that still exist in the Indian dating market and around the clear requirements of Indian law.
1. Authentic Profiles & Identity Verification
We believe dating should be genuine and safe. We strictly prohibit fake profiles, catfishing and impersonation. Our team uses a mix of technology and human review to keep the community real.
What we do beyond the legal baseline - Mandatory government-ID verification (DigiLocker) for every male member before they can message anyone - Live selfie / photo verification + continuous monitoring - Transparent Trust Score that rises with profile completeness, positive interactions and clean history - Strict manual profile screening on top of automated checks
If you spot a profile that does not seem authentic, report it immediately — we act fast.
Legal basis: Information Technology Act, 2000, Section 66D (Cheating by personation); IT Rules, 2021, Rule 3(1)(b)(vii) (Impersonation) — official MeitY text.

2. Zero Tolerance for Harassment, Abuse & Hate Speech
Your peace of mind is our priority. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against bullying, stalking, threats or any form of harassment based on gender, religion, caste or race. Serious violations lead to permanent bans — no warnings, no second chances.
Legal basis: IT Rules, 2021, Rule 3(1)(b)(ii); Information Technology Act, 2000, Section 67 — official MeitY text.
3. Intimate Imagery, Voyeurism & Non-Consensual Sharing
Your body, your rules. Sharing someone's private or intimate images without explicit consent is both a severe breach of trust and a crime under Indian law. We remove such content within 24 hours of a valid report, permanently ban the offender and fully cooperate with law enforcement.
Legal basis: Information Technology Act, 2000, Sections 66E & 67A; IT Rules, 2021, Rule 3(2)(b) (24-hour takedown mandate) — IT Act text and IT Rules.
4. Your Privacy & Consent
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, you have the right to know exactly what data we collect, why we need it, and who (if anyone) we share it with. You can withdraw consent, request a copy of your data, or ask us to permanently delete your account and all associated information at any time.
We never sell personal data. Nothing is public by default.
Legal basis: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (especially Sections on Notice, Consent and Right to erasure) and Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (notified November 2025, with phased enforcement through 2026–2027) — DPDP Act · DPDP Rules 2025.
5. Children & Age Assurance
Troobondr is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We use age-gating at registration and will immediately delete any profile found to belong to a minor.
Legal basis: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Section 9; Information Technology Act, 2000, Section 67B; IT Rules, 2021, Rule 3(1)(b)(iii).
6. In-App Safety Features & Meeting Offline Safely
Safety is built into the product, not bolted on later:
- Emergency / Panic Button — one tap shares live location with a trusted contact and switches the app to a neutral screen
- Screenshot alert — you are notified the moment someone screenshots your photo or chat
- Optional blur face until mutual match and private photo albums controlled entirely by the woman
- Easy unmatch, block and report tools
- Approximate location only + phone-number masking
When you decide to meet offline we always recommend a public place, telling a trusted friend your plans, and trusting your instincts. See our practical guide: Safety tips.
7. Reporting, Blocking & Grievance Redressal
You can block and report any user in a single tap inside the app. For formal complaints or unresolved issues, our dedicated Grievance Officer is available.
We acknowledge every formal complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days, in line with the law.

8. Law Enforcement Cooperation & Cyber Crime Reporting
We cooperate fully with Indian law-enforcement agencies and provide necessary information within 72 hours of a lawful request.
If you experience cyber fraud or any digital crime, please also report it directly to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal:
- Portal: cybercrime.gov.in
- National helpline: 1930
Legal basis: IT Rules, 2021, Rule 3(1)(j).
9. Emergency Helplines & Women's Support Resources
You are never alone. If you are in immediate danger, contact professional emergency services at once:
- 112 — National Emergency Response Support System (police, medical, fire)
- 181 — Women Helpline (24×7)
- National Commission for Women and other local support services
These numbers are independent of Troobondr and available to every person in India.
